ServiceShip Student for Mental Health Awareness - Nebraska Extension (Lincoln, NE)

Nebraska Extension is seeking a ServiceShip student with expertise in communication, journalism, and graphic design to create and produce a high-quality Nebraska Extension mental health campaign.

Many Extension staff and faculty (e.g., educators, Specialists) working in Nebraska have identified that increasing the awareness of mental health and available supports is a critical need. While others in the state are addressing mental health awareness in different ways we argue that having a Nebraska Extension focused campaign may provide a unique opportunity to engage with our clients; many of whom have trusted relationships with those working in Extension.

Additionally, we have collective and diverse expertise on the topic of mental health. However, we do not have the media expertise or dedicated time to engage in this work. Thus, having a ServiceShip student with expertise in communication, journalism, and graphic design would equip our knowledgeable team of Extension faculty and staff to produce a high-quality Nebraska Extension mental health campaign.

Projected Tasks:
• Develop a communication strategy
• Develop a project brand identity, typeface, color schemes, graphics
• Help with communicating content through brief video interviews that address various aspects of promoting the need to address mental health and available supports
