4-H Horse Judging Team Earns National Reserve Champion!

This January, several Nebraska 4-H’ers attended the 4‑H & FFA Western National Roundup’s Horse Classic in Denver, Colo. To qualify, each team and individual were required to win the state competition.

This year, the Horse Judging contest consisted of 37 individuals on 10 different teams from across the nation. The Lancaster County 4-H Horse Judging team of Liz Boshart, Savannah Nordmeyer, Avery Stohs and Katy Weaver (coached by Roger Bell and Amy Frink) earned 9th in reasons, 2nd in performance, 1st in halter and 2nd high team overall!

Liz Boshart received 3rd individual in performance, 9th individual in halter and 3rd high individual overall. Savannah Nordmeyer received 10th individual in performance and 8th high individual overall. Avery Stohs received 10th individual in halter. Katy Weaver received 4th individual in halter and 10th high individual overall.
