Doane University Symposium in Undergraduate Mathematics - Thursday, April 13th
Greetings from the Doane University Mathematics Department!
You are invited to the 17th annual Symposium in Undergraduate Mathematics (SUM), a forum for presentation and celebration of undergraduate student projects in mathematics. This year's event will take place on Thursday, April 13th, from approximately 9 am until 3 pm in the Doane University Perry Campus Center.
For the purpose of this event, "research" is defined very broadly: original research, survey articles, literature reviews, historical expositions, statistical papers, etc. This is a great opportunity for students who have participated in math-related research projects to present their work to a larger audience of peers, and can provide motivation and inspiration to younger math students who may be participating in such projects in the future.
To presenters: The first step in the process is for the student to e-mail information and an abstract describing their presentation. This information is due Friday, March 31st, and should be emailed to peg.hart@doane.edu. All presenters will be provided with meals (continental breakfast and lunch) at no expense.

Other attendees: We welcome other students and faculty members who would like to attend our event! The cost for attendance (which pays for a continental breakfast and lunch) is $12 per person, but non-presenter attendees must register in advance by emailing peg.hart@doane.edu by Friday, March 31st. Please bring cash or check on the day of the symposium.
