The MTEP 2.0 Outreach Hub seeks to encourage collaboration between post-secondary institutions from a broader community including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Native and Indigenous-serving institutions, and predominantly white institutions, etc., who are committed to improving the recruitment and preparation of a more qualified secondary mathematics teacher workforce of the future, and one that is representative of the United States population. The hub invites mathematics teacher educators, mathematicians and others from all partnering institutions who are interested in transforming the mathematics education of secondary prospective teachers to attend this partnership building and networking meeting. Please ask your colleagues at other post-secondary institutions within your state to participate with you in this partnership building opportunity.

The aims of the networking meeting include discussions about:

  • The goals of the MTEP, related to creating a community aimed at improving secondary mathematics teacher preparation.
  • Resources for teacher recruitment, active learning in early mathematics courses and clinical placements.
  • Meaningful and ongoing scholarly collaborations with professionals across the country.
  • Financial support for transformation efforts.
  • A Networked Improvement Community research design for informed learning.
