"Serving as the club president has been challenging yet rewarding during the pandemic." says Katie DiVall, Supply Chain Club President. She recounts, "The executive team had many plans for post pandemic; however, the pandemic has still not come to an end. In the last year, we have not had the chance to meet in person, which I thought would negatively impact club participation and meeting attendance. The Supply Chain Department has been extremely helpful with this concern. Many professors told students when meetings were; some even offered extra credit to attend our meetings. Meeting Bi-Weekly over Zoom, we had over 150 in attendance most weeks. It was a great opportunity for students from all majors in the College of Business to connect with their peers, as well as professionals during the pandemic. Members were able to participate in the 8th Annual National Undergraduate Supply Chain Case Competition, which was an amazing learning experience. This gave members the opportunity to network with a multitude of professionals, as well as compete against 16 other universities."
For this upcoming year, the supply chain club is planning on attending the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributor’s Association’s (STAFDA) Annual Convention. Club members are also interested in participating in another case competition. They have been working on recruiting more members through events like the Big Red Welcome, Club Fair, and the Back-to-School Bash.
"I have loved serving as the President of the club and am so thankful for the amazing people I have met along the way. Shawntell Kroese was an amazing faculty advisor last semester, and we are very excited to begin working with Scott Swenseth this semester. Supply Chain Club is hopeful for another amazing year, and we are excited to see what it holds."
