The Department of Supply Chain Management and Analytics will be hosting the 7th Annual Sustainable Operations Management Workshop between February 26 and 28, 2021 in Howard L. Hawks Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The workshop provides an outstanding venue for presentations on state-of-the-art research and industry applications, along with networking opportunities for scholars and practitioners who work in sustainable operations and supply chain management. The workshop typically draws participants from universities and companies across the United States, with more than 50 attendees including both academic and industry thought leaders. Session topics will include sustainability-related issues that are relevant for a wide variety of industries including recycling and remanufacturing, the circular economy, agricultural operations, renewable energy and energy efficiency, the environmental and social implications of novel supply chain practices, corporate social responsibility and practitioner sessions on industry applications. The program will also include plenary and keynote talks, panel discussions, networking sessions and more.
The Sustainable Operations Management Workshop has been an annual event since 2015 and is supported by the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business at Georgia Tech. In previous years, it has been hosted by Georgia Tech, North Caroline State University, University of Virginia, University of San Diego and Georgetown University. In earlier workshops, practitioners from various companies, such as Taylor Guitars, Walmart, SunPower and Measurabl, have shared their experiences and innovative solutions in the area of sustainable operations.
Practitioners interested in attending the workshop, presenting about their company’s sustainability applications, organizing a panel discussion or taking advantage of sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to contact Professors Jennifer Ryan (jennifer.ryan@unl.edu) and Erkut Sonmez (esonmez2@unl.edu).
