The American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) invited Dr. Özgür Araz to contribute to the journal with an editorial article. Araz serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for AJPH, one of the most prestigious journals in health care and medicine. He commented on an article that presented the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of community-supported agriculture based interventions for low income U.S. adults with chronic diseases. In the article titled “Community-Supported Agriculture: Systems Thinking in Action,” Araz called for systems thinking highlighting the value of simulation-based analytical methods in identifying sustainable policies.

Dr. Araz also accepted the invitation to serve as an Associate Editor for the IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering Journal. He will serve as the Area Editor of Public Health Informatics in Health Systems journal (an official journal of The Operational Research Society - The OR Society).

Professor Shawntell Kroese participated in the "Plug and Play" Rail Innovation Day Webinar in April 2020. As former Union Pacific Vice President, she led a Fireside Chat. The webinar was joined by 10 top-tier startups to pitch their solutions to rail-related corporations from around the world.

Dr. Leon Xu's research, "Large Number of Drug Manufacturers Fail to Complete FDA’s Accelerated Approval Program" is focused on the FDA drug approval process. The study shows that pharmaceutical companies have failed to comply with federal policies that could speed up the approval of potentially life-saving prescription drugs and was mentioned by multiple media outlets:
