Counseling and Psychological Services at Nebraska offers eight therapy and support groups on a variety of topics to help students get the assistance they need. While working through a variety of concerns in a facilitated therapy or support group, students can learn from others, feel supported, gain insight, practice new behaviors and increase self-esteem.

If you know a student who could benefit from a counseling group, you should encourage them to call CAPS at 402-472-7450 to speak with a provider. Same-day initial evaluation appointments are available. During this appointment, students can discuss their current concerns with a counselor who will help ensure that the group meets the student’s needs. They also will discuss confidentiality to develop a positive dynamic for the best group experience.

All CAPS therapy groups are free to students who have paid student fees. Current therapy and support groups include:

  • All Gender Graduate Therapy Group
  • All Gender Undergraduate Therapy Group
  • Food & Mood Therapy Group
  • Graduate Women of Color Therapy Group
  • Graduate Women Therapy Group
  • International Student Therapy Group
  • Students with Children Support Group
  • Undergraduate BIPOC Therapy Group
