Archives and Special Collections launches new request system

Beginning Jan. 20, requests for materials through Archives and Special Collections in the Libraries will be managed through My A&SC, a new online system.

The software behind My A&SC is Aeon, a tool designed specifically for archives and special collections. UNL joins over 100 research libraries from around the world in using Aeon to help users manage their research with archival materials and rare books.

With My A&SC, researchers and visitors can create an account to request materials to view in the reading room, request reproductions, and schedule appointments. Users will also be able to securely access information about their past requests in the system.

The link to My A&SC will be found on the main Archives and Special Collections web page and other affiliate pages. Users will need to create an account to manage their requests. UNL users will login with their UNL credentials but still need to register to place requests and use the reading room. All other researchers, including those from other institutions within the NU System, will need to register and create a login.

A software solution does not, of course, replace an archivist, and UNL’s archivists remain committed to assisting everyone interested in using Archives and Special Collections materials.

Contact Archives and Special Collections at archives@unl.edu with questions about the new system or to request research assistance.
