The Department of Educational Administration (EDAD) at the University of Nebraska offers rigorous, accessible and forward thinking programs that serve nearly hundreds of graduate students in higher education in Nebraska, across the USA, and globally.

At the master's level, we offer two options for the master of arts (M.A.) degree in Educational Administration:

Our M.A. in educational administration - community colleges or higher education specialization is as an exclusively online program traditionally designed to serve the needs of those already employed at a college or university who seek to advance their careers in administration. This program offers students the opportunity to grow their leadership and administrative skills through a rigorous, entirely online degree.

The M.A. in educational administration - student affairs administration specialization is as an on-campus program designed to offer student the opportunity to grow their understanding of various student experiences and be future leaders of the profession. Students learn approaches to advising students, planning programs, and developing policies through a deep exploration of current literature, applying theory to practical situations, and implementing solutions that account for the diversity of the study body and the importance of equity in education.

Additionally, we offer a Community College Leadership Certificate is for individuals already employed at a community college. Individuals who are in or aspire to an instructional leadership appointment or senior administrative position will find this program beneficial to their personal and professional advancement. The certificate can be completed online as a stand-alone credential.

Lastly, we offer two different doctoral degree programs that are delivered in a hybrid fashion. The Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) in Educational Administration - P-20 Education is an applied professional degree that prepares scholarly practitioners to lead continuous improvement for equity in educational organizations at all levels, P-20. This program allows students to choose among their specializations: community colleges, higher education, or P-12 System Level School Leadership.

The other doctoral program, the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Studies with a specialization in Educational Leadership and Higher Education is a scholarly focused program that provides academic preparation and professional development for those individuals interested in the study of educational leadership and higher education. This program also has three concentrations which are: community colleges, higher education, or P-12 Educational Leadership.
