Primary Responsibilities:
Picture yourself at HDR. We offer vast opportunities for an aspiring marketing and communications professional. Our teams design solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges in areas like water, power and energy, transportation, health, education, defense and intelligence, and urban and community development. To support these efforts, our Corporate Marketing Services department engages in campaigns and events, graphic design and digital media, web development, pursuit management, systems and reports and training. For the intern position, we want somebody skilled in technical writing, layout design and/or graphic design. You must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with a team to complete tasks. Strong organization and time management are required. Primary duties include layout of e-newsletter and brochures in Adobe InDesign, coordination of marketing materials, and development of graphic concepts. Additional work includes development of videos, presentations, proposals, announcements, award submittals, web sites and reports.
This internship is for Summer 2021. This position is subject to not being filled or start dates cancelled due to escalating health situations or business-related changes.
Required Qualifications:
> Education: Currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate student) and majoring in marketing, journalism, advertising, business or English
> Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe InDesign and Acrobat Pro; Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator strongly preferred; Experience with MS SharePoint or Adobe Premiere a plus
> Ability to work on complex and multipart projects
> Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in person and virtually
> Strong organizational skills, with a desire to support process improvements
> Understanding of graphic design principles
Preferred Qualifications:
> Prefer 2+ years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
> Preference given to local candidates
