Do you want to be a part of 56 game broadcasts for a fun, first-class professional minor league baseball team with new owners -- in a budding city of 200,000 less than four hours from Lincoln -- and have a BLAST doing it?
Then you're a perfect fit for the Sioux Falls Canaries, who are looking for a talented, motivated broadcast intern and No. 2 announcer for the 2021 season, which runs May 18 thru whenever your fall semester starts.
We are not your run-of-the-mill baseball operation. From our new owners down, we are colorful personalities and believe in hiring passionate like-minded people to help things get weird, wacky, and wonderful every night at The Birdcage. It's not just a game, it's an experience and a state of mind. And we want you to be a part of it!
The right candidate will have a chance to call multiple innings on home broadcasts alongside Joey Zanaboni, one of the zaniest and most original announcers in baseball, whose personal highlight reel has garnered over 335,000 views on Twitter, and still going strong.
Trust us, you will have a good time and learn a lot from Joey, a veteran of minor league announcing who will show the right candidate what it takes to thrive in the industry beyond just calling a game.
Most of all, we are looking for a creative self-starter who is capable of quickly shooting, producing, and editing videos -- from highlight reels to goofy TikTok videos involving Canaries' players, staff and fans.
We also need a fast, efficient writer to type occasional post-game summaries for our website media releases.
