Marketing Internship - Lancaster Event Center (Lincoln, NE)

The Marketing Intern is primarily responsible for assisting the Marketing Team with creating promotions and communicating projects and events like the National High School Finals Rodeo Lincoln, the world’s largest rodeo, the 150th Lancaster County Super Fair, and other events as available. Specific areas include ticketing, public relations and advertising via traditional marketing (print, broadcast, direct mail, phone, and outdoor advertising like billboards and posters) and digital media (video, social platforms, and website).

PAY:
> $11-13/hour depending on experience when full time
> Pay increase reviews no less than 3 months after start to recognize quick contributors

AVAILABILITY:
> Part-time hours during school year, flexible hours to work around your school schedule
> Full-time hours during summer so we can ensure you’re available for our biggest events
> Hours will vary around events with daytime, evening, nights and/or weekend hours and some overtime as needed and available

> Must be available to help for NHSFR Lincoln starting July 7 through the Super Fair Aug 7

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Use content management system to schedule out social media posts
> Content development for digital, print, radio, tv advertising and owned media channels
> Act as a social media manager by helping monitor messages via platforms for NHSFR Lincoln and Super Fair accounts
> Track and analyze digital analytics to gather insights for improvement
> Proofread press releases and advertisements
> Act as a Ticketing Lead for events
> Help with volunteer and hiring recruitment
> Get involved in other marketing aspects that are of interest to you such as broadcast media planning, web content management, and live media event planning
> Assist with other aspects of the Guest Services Team that may include ticketing,
food & beverage services, event management, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
> Expert understanding of how to operate social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
> Knowledge of or willingness to learn how to use Sprout Social CMS
> Ability to bring new ideas to enhance marketing and increase reach and engagement
> Knowledge or willingness to learn basics of writing press releases
> Willingness to learn ticketing software and set up/tear down process
> Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic with attention to detail without close supervision
> Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and written
> Ability to work well under pressure
> Photography or videography skills a bonus but not required
