Advertising Sales Internship - Lancaster Event Center (Lincoln, NE)

The Advertising & Sponsorship Intern is primarily responsible for assisting the Business Development Manager to identify, secure and execute sponsorships for Lancaster Event Center Fairgrounds, National High School Finals Rodeo Lincoln, the Lancaster County Super Fair, and other events as available. May include creating presentations, brochures & online content, researching contacts online and by phone, making initial calls to secure meetings, going on meetings to help present opportunities, helping customizing our sponsorships/advertising to meet each partner’s needs, leading execution of sponsor/advertising agreements by working with internal and external staff. Also includes Tradeshow Assistant Manager for the National High School Finals Rodeo in 2021.

PAY:
> $11-13/hour depending on experience when full-time
> Pay increase reviews no less than 3 months after start to recognize quick contributors

AVAILABILITY:
> Part-time hours during school year, flexible hours to work around your school schedule
> Full-time hours during summer so we can ensure you’re available for our biggest events
> Hours will vary around events with daytime, evening, nights and/or weekend hours and some overtime as needed and available

QUALIFICATIONS:
> Honest, trustworthy, reliable and strives to go above and beyond
> Desire to learn, team mentality, flexibility and commitment
> Initiative and communication skills
> Agriculture, ranching, rodeo background/interest strongly preferred
> Must be available to help for NHSFR Lincoln starting July 7 through the Super Fair Aug 7

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Act as an Assistant Trade Show Manager taking lead on a variety of tasks such as keeping track of vendors, meeting their needs, notifying Manager of any issues that arise, etc.
> Create presentations to present at business development meetings
> Seek out and make initials calls to secure sponsor prospect meetings
> Help customize sponsorship/advertising to meet our partner’s needs
> Act as a project manager to execute sponsor/advertising agreement by working with internal staff and partners
> Attend meetings to help present opportunities
> Assist with other aspects of the Guest Services Team that may include ticketing,
food & beverage service, etc.
> Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
> Effective persuasive communication skills
> Excellent speaker
> Extremely organized
> Project management experience
> Ability to develop strategies for business growth
> Expert in creating PowerPoints and presentations
> Expert in tracking results in excel
> Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and written
> Willingness to learn how to operate LEC Fairgrounds ticketing and other programs
