Social Media Intern - Platte Basin Timelapse (Lincoln, NE)

Platte Basin Timelapse (PBT) is currently looking for a new Social Media Intern to join our team.

Since 2011, the Platte Basin Timelapse project has been telling stories using time-lapse and traditional photography to educate people about where their water comes from, and what it means to live in a watershed today. The PBT team creates innovative multimedia content to tell the myriad stories of the Platte: web-based journalism, combining art and research, STEM-based educational curriculum for middle and high school science students, and a documentary film for public television.

The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of digital media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. They will use our archive of more than 2,000,000 time-lapse images to create engaging social media posts that are relevant to the message and branding of Platte Basin Timelapse. They will develop a social media strategy and content calendars. They will write, shoot, and edit posts for our social media platforms on a weekly basis. Previous experience running an organization's social media accounts is preferred but not necessary.

The intern will be working mostly with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Nikon DSLR cameras, so prior knowledge of these tools is ideal but not necessary.

This internship is for University of Nebraska undergraduate students, is paid, minimum wage and a minimum of 10 hours a week. The internship will be one year minimum or until the student graduates. Students in their last semester of school are not encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a student who is passionate about water, environmental conservation, educational outreach, and multimedia storytelling. Some of the qualities we will be looking for in a candidate include; excellent communication skills, self-motivated, eager and willing to learn, creative mind, accountable.
