Outreach & Event Intern - Downtown Lincoln Association (Lincoln, NE)

The outreach & event intern serves as the secondary contact for the event team and provides support for the event and research staff. This position requires an outgoing, creative and task-oriented person to aid in the production of all downtown produced and supported events. This involves setting up and attending Downtown Lincoln’s summer events including the Tower Music Series, Downtown Family Day, Downtown 101, Zoofest, etc. The outreach and event intern will also be responsible for collecting data in person from all businesses in the downtown area.

Specific Duties:
> Aid in the planning and execution of various downtown events.
> Help coordinate DLA’s visitor booth at several University and downtown conventions.
> Hand out event fliers to downtown businesses.
> Update DLA’s calendar of events.
> Conduct a walking inventory to collect and compile data on downtown businesses.
> Assist in updating property owner, business directory, parking facility, space available, downtown living and other mailing databases.
> Assist in disseminating communications materials through the preparation of mailing lists and labels.
> Serve as backup as needed for customer service and telephone responses.

Position Requirements:
> Outgoing, energetic, self-motivated and task driven.
> Required to attend weekend events during the Summer event season.
> Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
> Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
> Good knowledge of all social media tools including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.
> Ability to deliver materials throughout the downtown area.

Position Specifications:
> Part-Time Employee | 15 - 20 Hours/Week | Flexible hours | Seasonal (May-August)
> Pay starts at $10.00 an hour.
