General Responsibilities:
Effectively track, prioritize, and manage all information coming into the newsroom. Communicate with story sources or contacts to help verify or begin developing story content. Decide on daily coverage priorities, and work with other newsroom managers to delegate assignments to newsroom staff. Respond urgently, decisively, and effectively when breaking news occurs. Organize and track camera gear and vehicle assignments. Manage reporter schedules. Assist with newsroom digital duties, including posting stories to our apps, website, and social media platforms.
Qualifications:
·At least 2 year of professional newsroom experience
·Experience and ability in coordinating news coverage and generating story ideas
·Professional phone and email skills
·The ability to use exceptional news judgement to prioritize tasks and assignments
·Knowledge of Lincoln, NE and surrounding communities
