Dear UNL Mathematics Students,
My name is Iris Wang. I’m currently an Assistant Professor in Operations Management at the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I am reaching out because my department is actively seeking to recruit talented students to join our doctoral program. From my own undergraduate experience as a statistics major, I know that a business Ph.D. wouldn’t necessarily have crossed my mind, but that an undergraduate degree in a technical field, such as math, statistics, economics, or engineering is actually one of the best ways to prepare for such a program.
