Serve. Learn. Lead. Employers want to hire people who think and can act with civic interests at heart. Students who engage in civic activities often make themselves more competitive for prestigious fellowships and graduate education.

UNL's Certificate for Civic Engagement (CCE) is a record of your civic-related activities that becomes a part of your official academic transcript. To achieve this, you must first officially register for the CCE program. Discover more about the CCE.

The next round of virtual orientations to begin your Certificate of Civic Engagement is happening December 6–19, 2020 and January 11–22, 2021. There are 25 date options and two orientation sessions per day. That's 50 easy opportunities for starting your certificate and you only have to attend ONE.

During the 45-minute orientation, CCE coaches Dr. Kris Baack and Shridula Hegde will talk with you about:

  • the process and content of the CCE program.
  • brainstorming and discussing your academic goals, your strengths, and gifts to share with others and your service passions.
  • the coaches will assist in completing your Action Plan for Civic Value 1.
Preregister now for your orientation.

All orientations are held via Zoom. If you'd like to request a different time to fit your daily schedule, email Dr. Kris Baack kbaack1@unl.edu or Shridula Hegde shegde19@huskers.unl.edu to arrange an individual session.
