If the weather is cooling down or you're searching to get away from the summer heat, catching a movie is the perfect way to unwind and be swept away by cinematic storytelling. Now's your time to experience the magic of a theater again, at any of these locations around Lincoln.
Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center
This on-campus spot is inexpensive and convenient for seeing numerous arthouse films, documentaries, short films and other cinematic events that don't always make it on the big screen. Those looking for cultural and indie films will always find something worthwhile at the Ross.
Joyo Theater
This theater location is special for its regular screenings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". If you've never attended one of these screenings, they involve costumes, inside jokes, yelling at the screen and other unique customs you won't see with any other movie. You can also rent out the 25-foot screen to play video games with friends, on almost any console system.
Any Marcus Theatre locations
For classic blockbusters and a traditional moviegoing experience, look no further than any of the Marcus theaters in Lincoln. Each of these theaters offer leather reclining seats and food to order right to your chair, among additional amenities. The 11th & P street grand cinema location is a close walk from campus, easily accessible if you're living in the dorms or downtown.
On-campus Movie Nights
On Tuesday, August 24, the Residence Hall Association will host an outdoor screening of "F9– The Fast Saga" at 8 p.m. Stay tuned for other movie-related events from various campus organizations this semester, including Residence Life movie nights, drive-in movies and special outdoor screenings.
