Husker Hire Link and other on-line resources list jobs posted by organizations seeking candidates. Unfortunately, some fraudulent positions are created in these systems as well. UNL Career Services carefully screens organizations and positions in Husker Hire Link, but you must always use common sense and caution in your job search.
If you become concerned about a questionable position for which you applied through Husker Hire Link or other online sites:
• End all communication with the employer. If personal information was disclosed, monitor your accounts carefully over the next several days.
• If you have sent money to a fraudulent organization, contact your bank or credit card company immediately to close your account and dispute the charges.
• If they have sent you a check, do not cash it.
• Report the fraud to UNL Career Services and the police.
