Backpacks & Briefcases, hosted by Scarlet Guard*, UNL’s student alumni association, and the Nebraska Alumni Association, is open to all UNL students and will take place from 6 to 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Nebraska Innovation Campus (2021 Transformation Drive).
The event will have two tracks:
Backpacks: assisting underclassmen in maximizing their college experience
Briefcases: assisting upperclassmen in launching their career or continuing their education. Regardless of track, all students will be able to:
Attend a success panel comprised of exceptional student leaders and alumni,
Attend wellness, finance and networking breakout sessions led by Diane Mendenhall (Associate Athletic Director for Development and Ticketing for Nebraska Athletics), Megan Scherling (Program Coordinator for UNL’s Student Money Management Center) and Sarah Barg (Career Coach for UNL’s College of Business Administration),
Have a professional headshot taken,
Have their resume reviewed by professional career counselors, and
Interact with representatives from EducationQuest and Nebraska Crossing Outlets.
Roundtrip transportation will be available from the Wick Alumni Center to Nebraska Innovation Campus.
*A private networking reception will be held for Scarlet Guard members from 5:15 – 6 p.m. in the Nebraska Innovation Campus Banquet Hall.
