When using Outlook and Word 2013 you may have noticed that attachments open in the "Read Mode" and you have to click a button at the top of the screen to change the layout and enable editing. Some may find that "Read Mode" does not give an accurate perception of the layout and size of the document. Should you have this happen using Outlook and Word 2010 it can also be corrected.
1. Open Word.
2. On the "File" tab choose "Options."
3. For 2013: In the "General" section uncheck the box "Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view."
For 2010: In the "General" section uncheck the box "Open e-mail attachments in Full Screen Reading view."
4. Click "OK."
