In support of every person and every interaction matters, OASIS will host UndocuAlly training to help undocumented students thrive on March 6, from 1-4 p.m. in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center. The training is free and open to UNL students, faculty, and staff. Preregistration is required by Feb 28. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
UndocuAlly training educates participants about the specific needs and experiences of undocumented students and covers topics such as:
- The legal and social realities faced by undocumented students.
- How to navigate conversations and provide emotional support.
- Identifying resources available to undocumented students at UNL.
- Ways to advocate for policy changes that support undocumented students' access to education.
By becoming an UndocuAlly, participants will gain an understanding of the barriers students face, from legal challenges to social isolation, and will be empowered to help foster a campus climate where all students can thrive academically and emotionally.
