Instructors have a variety of options for lowering textbook costs for students, including no-cost options through Libraries-provided materials, open educational resources, and reduced-cost inclusive access programs available through Follett and Unizin.

The Libraries have implemented new tools and workflows to determine the lowest-cost options available for instructor-selected course materials and is seeking instructors for 30-50 course sections to participate in a Libraries Course Materials 2.0 pilot for the fall semester.

Participants will be asked to submit their course material lists to the Libraries during the course materials ordering period. All participants will learn how to make the lowest-cost option course materials available to their students on the first day of the semester. Feedback on the process will be solicited at the conclusion of the pilot.

Instructors interested in participating should contact, Melissa Gomis, chair of collections strategy and open scholarship, at melissa.gomis@unl.edu.
