The UCARE program provides $2400 in funding to the undergraduate student while the faculty advisor provides guidance and mentoring on the research or creative project. A student may propose their own research or creative project topic or may assist a faculty advisor on their ongoing project. Students commit to 10 hours per week on their project and should be engaged in a meaningful research or creative experience where they gain responsibility and some degree of autonomy over the course of their term.

A faculty advisor may oversee up to three students with UCARE funding per term. Students must identify and confirm an advisor and project before applying. The application period for Summer 2019 will run from December 3 - January 21. The application period for Academic Year 2019-2020 will run from February 4 - March 11.

If you are interested in serving as a faculty advisor to a UCARE student in Summer 2019 or academic year 2019-20, contact Justina Clark at jclark17@unl.edu to learn more about the program.
