Yujie Gao graduated from the program in August of 2017. For those who spent time with him while in the program, you know that he was always doing things that some would decide was outside the realm of possibility. There was even a name for it… “Gaoing”
Well, Gao is still hard at it. Shortly after graduation, he started working at Topgolf in Dallas. His work at Topgolf (somehow) landed him on the golf course in a round with Jordan Spieth which led to an opportunity back in China. Since returning to his home country, he has started two businesses, worked to grow the China Tour to a prominent place on the global professional golf stage, and served as the Tournament Director for the Junior World Championship Series in China.
Most of his time now is spent on his businesses. His primary business is the GPlanet International Golf Academy in Guangzhou. GPlanet is the largest golf academy in Southern China. It is a multi-level, high tech driving range facility featuring 15 coaches to help grow the game in China. He is currently working on opening a second location.
The other business is a travel and tournament operations company focused on golf travel called Myjoy Sports Company. So, if you’re in the market for a trip to the far east for a great golf experience, check it out!
Every time we talk with Gao, he’s always doing new and exciting things. There is no doubt that Gao will just keep on Gaoing!
