Joe Canny, PGA Professional and Assistant Professor of Practice in the PGA Golf Management Program!

Joe Canny, PGA is the Player Development Supervisor for Lincoln City Golf, which manages four championship 18-hole courses and one 9-hole learning center in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. Joe has a strong background in consumer marketing and player development through his current position and prior positions with the PGA of America Headquarters (2009-2013) and Nebraska Section of the PGA of America (2013-2017).

Joe is a 2009 graduate of the PGA Golf Management Program at the University of Nebraska. While in school he served as the President of the Student Club and Teaching Assistant for four semesters. “I could not be more honored and excited to serve the PGA Golf Management Program at the University of Nebraska in this new role. I have a strong passion for the program, the industry and these students and know that will become evident as I become more involved. Students graduating from the program are already very prepared but I hope my experience will help them get a jump forward in their first job and programs we involve students in with Lincoln City Golf will help them build their resumes to land that ideal first position.”

Dr. Husmann, PGA Golf Management Director, states that "Having a PGA professional and a solid role model in the golf industry provides our campus based students with a direct connection to the golf profession. We look forward to using Joe in more of our classes to share his insight, wisdom, and life experiences with our students. Joe is a wonderful addition to our teaching staff in PGA golf management in the Center of Grassland Studies."

Welcome and Congratulations Joe!
