At UNL's May graduation, the PGA Golf Management Program had five (5) students graduate and enter careers in the golf industry.
Students graduating from the PGA Golf Management Program at UNL are required to pass a Playing Ability Test (PAT) which demonstrates to the PGA of America they can play a credible game of golf, successfully complete four levels of the PGA of America's curriculum (Qualifying Level, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, and complete 16 months of supervised internship at PGA recognized golf facilities. When these students graduate and enter the golf industry, they are ready to roll.
May 2019 Graduates include:
Jacob Barnard (from Edina, Minnesota); Jacob did a 3-month internship at Spring Hill Golf Course in Wayzata, Minnesota. For his next 3-month internship, he was at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, North Carolina. Jacob then completed an extended internship at the Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming. His final extended internship was completed at the Country Club of Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Michael Grof (from Omaha, Nebraska); assistant professional at the Prairie Club in Valentine, Nebraska. Michael did a 3-month internship at Shadow Ridge Country Club in Omaha, Nebraska. His next two 3-month internships were completed at The Prairie Club in Valentine, Nebraska. Michael's final extended internship was again completed at The Prairie Club outside Valentine, Nebraska.
Kramer Samuelson (from Clarinda, Iowa); 2nd assistant professional at The Round Hill Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. Kramer's first 3-month internship was completed at The Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Oklahoma. His next 3-month internship was completed at the Round Hill Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. Kramer's third 3-month internship was completed at The Quarry at La Quinta in La Quinta, California. For his final extended internship, Kramer headed back to the Round Hill Club outside Greenwich, Connecticut.
Alex Sheehy (from Hastings, Nebraska); assistant professional at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. Alex completed his first 3-month internship at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Nebraska. His next internship was an extended experience at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. He also completed his third internship at Medinah and his final 3-month internship was completed at Naples National Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
Adam Speck (from Gothenburg, Nebraska); assistant professional at the Prairie Club in Valentine, Nebraska. Adam's first 3-month internship was completed at Holmes Golf Course in Lincoln, Nebraska. His second internship was an extended internship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon. Adam's third and fourth internship was at The Prairie Club outside Valentine, Nebraska.
