We have a great program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln but more importantly, it is the people internally and externally that really make this program what it is today. From our 2019 cohort in PGA Golf Management to our alumni and our supports of the program...thank you for investing in us!

Our fall 2019 cohort is a strong and diverse group of students who have really challenged the upper-level students with their performance on the golf course. Out of the top ten prize money winners in this fall's tournaments, five of the students are freshmen. Freshman Andrew Martin played in this fall's Scott Holly Match Play Championship falling to senior Cole Meschede in the finals. Freshman Chris Rasmussen won events at Hillcrest Country Club and the Highlands Golf Course. Freshman Sam Gage won an event at Crooked Creek and Freshman Koby Walker won an event at Wilderness Ridge. And...we had five freshman play in this fall's CONE Cup competition hosted here in Lincoln (Koby Walker, Andrew Martin, Joey Utz, Chris Rasmussen, and Sam Gage). To top off the quality of this fall freshman class, Chris Rasmussen will join a veteran team at this fall's Jones Cup competition in Florida later in November. These gals and guys are good!

Concerning our alumni, take a close look at how UNL PGM graduate Alex Beach is lighting up the golf world with his great performance at the PGA Professionals National Championship and his super performance at the 2019 PGA Cup! All I can say is that Alex is hitting on all cylinders. Way to go, Alex!

For news about other students on campus, you can read the latest update from President Josh Baldus and hear from our two teaching assistants for 2019-20, Beth Hildebrandt and Joey Chandra. Under Josh's leadership the club is active and has done a great job of engaging the freshmen this fall. Beth and Joey have accomplished great things in our PGAM classes and their insight and contributions have really helped us out this fall. Thanks Beth, Joey, and Josh!

Read about Brad Goetsch's latest international study abroad plans in this newsletter as he and our HRTM program at UNL have combined forces to take students on an education abroad experience to China over spring break in 2020. We'll have great stories from him and his students in the spring edition of our program's newsletter.

There are many other students highlighted in this newsletter, so make sure you read all the articles including an update on our most recent graduates of the PGA Golf Management program at UNL. Our graduates continue to enter careers in the golf industry and we look forward to following their progression and advancement in our great organization.

We rely on many individuals to assist our program in addressing the future needs and challenges of our PGA program. Our external advisory council plays a critical role in charting our future and sharing what our professionals in the field are experiencing in the golf industry. In this newsletter edition, we introduce you to Landscapes Golf Management President Tom Everett and his wonderful family. Tom is a PGA professional and provides a great resource for our campus-based PGA golf management program. Thank you, Tom, for your service to current and future students in our program.

Finally, recruitment remains a paramount concern for us and our program as we strive to meet the increased demand for our students through internships and our graduates who enter the golf industry. We need your help to identify the talented individuals who might consider a career in the golf industry. With the passing of Resolution 1 concerning PGA membership, our efforts have never been more important or more critical as we bring PGA membership to individuals on a global scale.

Go Big Red!
