Freelance communications + marketing position at Baltimore-based workplace culture, conflict and communication startup (remote).
This freelance marketing position reports directly to Anne Hilb, CEO and founder of Graymake Consulting, and helps her in her goals of: becoming a thought-leader in the industry of workplace culture and communication; promoting brand and name recognition within the DMV area; and, perhaps most importantly, client acquisition.
Major job tasks include:
> Sending out 1-4 email newsletters per month
> Ensuring approx 4 Facebook posts per week
> Ensuring approx 4 Instagram posts per week
> Ensuring daily posts on Anne’s personal Linkedin (splitting the responsibility with Anne)
> Blog editing or ghost-writing for Gray Matter, the Graymake blog (approx 1-2 per month)
> Light website maintenance (i.e. updating “Events” page)
> Weekly hour-long standing meetings
Soft skills include:
> Learning the language of organizational development
> Ensuring Anne’s wisdom is conveyed in easy-to-digest, attention-grabbing ways that speak to current and potential clients
> Taking feedback from Anne and implement it for future projects
> Setting deadlines + check in with Anne re: upcoming deadlines
> Grit and empathy
> The ability to take initiative, innovate and problem-solve
> Efficiency of language: the ability to be concise
> Basic digital and design skills, including familiarity with Canva, website platforms like Wordpress and Squarespace, and Mailchimp + basic SEO knowledge
> A willingness to learn new skills
> Working in tandem with Anne’s freelance admin assistant when necessary
The job pays $15 per hour and can be done remotely. Invoice every 15 hours. Time commitment ranges from 20-30 hours monthly, or 5-7.5 hours weekly.
