In December, Professor Ryan Sullivan was interviewed by and quoted in the New York Times in an article related to his research on the use of civil penalties in criminal shoplifting matters. Sullivan was also interviewed and quoted by the Toronto Star in two articles covering the adoption and application of similar civil penalties in Canada.
