3Ls Compete in International Law School Mediation Tournament, Bring Home Trophy

3Ls Kelsey Dawson, Megan Osler, and Justin Yates recently competed at the International academy of Dispute Resolution - International Law School Mediation Tournament in Chicago. The students competed with and against students from all across the globe, including schools from India, Sri Lanka, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England, and Lithuania as well as schools from across the United States.

2L Alex Galvin, who planned on being an alternate for the Nebraska team, was given the opportunity to compete as a team member for National Law University, Delhi, when one member of that Indian team could not make it to Chicago due to visa issues.

Our students performed extraordinarily well, holding their own in our first time competing in this competition. Although they did not advance from the wide field of 52 teams to the semi-finals of 16, they consistently received high marks in very close scoring rounds. We did receive an award for our “Outstanding New Mediation Program,” and we have a beautiful trophy for the trophy case!

The students especially enjoyed the ability to work with and network with students from across the globe, and it was an experience they are not going to forget!

Be sure and congratulate them!
