The ASEM Marketing Team is requesting your help in identifying talented students to feature in prospective student recruitment marketing materials.

Prospective students want to see that Nebraska is a place where they can have life-changing experiences that result in an outcome. An outcome can be a career after graduation, but it can also be milestones throughout school — finding a major, paying for school, or starting a business.

At Nebraska, we have the opportunity to share current students’ outcomes through stories to show prospective students that Nebraska is the place where faculty and staff are dedicated to helping students stretch their strengths and co-create their future.

You can see our current student stories at cocreate.unl.edu. We are looking to feature more current student stories that represent one or more of the following categories:

  • Lincoln connection - Student has a clear connection to a local organization or business.
  • Entrepreneur - Student has created their own business or non-profit.
  • Research - Student participates in UCARE or similar, conducting interesting research.
  • Paying for school - Student can speak intelligently about their struggles paying for school and how it was accomplished.
  • Choosing a major - Student can speak intelligently about their struggles to find and choose their major and the various services and connections they used to get to that conclusion.
  • First generation - Student can speak intelligently about struggles to understand college, process, and finding community without the benefit of parent or guardian guidance.
  • Finding home - Student can speak intelligently about struggles to understand college, process, and finding community without the benefit of being in the place they grew up.
  • Changing the world - Students who are affecting the larger community through an RSO, business, class or Greek organization.
  • Don’t wait - Students who have created opportunities for themselves before they leave college.
  • Overcoming obstacles - Students who have surmounted some difficulty to attend college or persist in the pursuit of their degree.

To recommend a student with a story, please send the student’s name, phone number, email address, and a brief description of why you’re nominating them to featureme@unl.edu. We are always accepting student recommendations for student stories.
