ARISE STEM Teaching Programs Begin Feb. 1

This spring, the ARISE advisory board and Innovative Instructional Design will offer two semester-long Friday lunch programs for faculty to engage with STEM colleagues on teaching practices: Learning by Design and Strategies for Effective Use of Undergraduate Learning Assistants.

In Learning by Design, participants will learn how to use the backward design process to develop courses in which learning goals are well-aligned with learning activities and assessments.

In Strategies for Effective Use of Undergraduate Learning Assistants, participants will examine models for STEM learning assistant usage, best practices, implementation issues, learn from current successful practices at the university, and develop plans that would work in their own courses.

Program and registration information is available on the ARISE website.
