Are you an instructor who is concerned about the impact of high textbook costs on your students? Explore possible open textbook solutions by attending a two-hour workshop hosted by STAR (Successful Teaching with Affordable Resources). Review a textbook and receive a $200 stipend for your efforts!

Did You Know...

  • The high cost of some course materials can impede students’ academic success.
  • The College Board estimated the average undergraduate could budget $1,220 - $1,420 for textbooks and supplies in 2017–18.
  • The cost of textbooks is rising at a rate of four times inflation.
  • Seven out of ten students don’t purchase a required textbook during their academic career because of cost.

What You Can Do
Learn more by attending the Open Textbook Workshop on Thursday, February 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Love Library, Peterson Room 221. Capacity is limited, so register by February 8.
