Fundraising Student intern - Lied Center (Lincoln, NE)

The Lied Center for Performing Arts is seeking a Student Intern to assist the Lied Center's fundraising (development) team.

Responsibilities are on a project-by-project basis and include assisting full time staff with database work, gift processing, communications, donor relations, event planning and execution, and various administrative tasks. The applicant should be comfortable learning a new donor software system. Requests often require a quick turnaround and a high level of accuracy and customization. Intern hours include both office hours during the work week (flexible with student class schedule) and evening/weekend hours during events, for an average of 20 hours per week.

DUTIES:
> Provide support for fundraising campaigns including solicitation, engagement, and acknowledgement of members, utilizing direct mail and electronic communications.
> Help to maintain donor database with current and prospective donor information. Pull mailing lists and other reporting from donor database, as requested.
> Communicate with donors and sponsors regarding their contributions and benefits.
> Assist with gift processing, under the supervision of development staff.
> Provide assistance to development and event staff in coordinating meetings, receptions, meet and greets and fundraising events.
> Help to organize and archive donor files and sponsor materials.
> Aid with general day-to-day interdepartmental projects and administrative tasks.
> Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
> Experience working with: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Preferred experience with Tessitura or similar donor database systems.
> Must be willing to complete cash handling and other training, as may be required.
> Strong verbal and written communication skills. A level of poise and tact is expected when interacting with Lied Center donors, board members, and patrons.
> Interest in and ability in external relations, comfortable with face-to-face marketing and relationship building.
> Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
> This position requires a strong attention to detail.
> Must be highly organized, self-sufficient, and have the capacity to manage multiple projects.
> Quick learner and problem solver. Proactively jumps in to assist with projects.
> Flexible and openly seeks advice and best practices.
