Media Production Intern - Nebraska Cultural Endowment (Lincoln, NE)

The Nebraska Cultural Endowment, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the statewide projects and programs of the Nebraska Arts Council and Humanities Nebraska, is seeking an intern to support the development, implementation, and promotion of its digital strategy, specifically through podcast and other audio-visual media. The Media Production Intern (“Intern”) will enhance NCE’s brand awareness through the capturing, editing and promotion of video and audio assets.

Summary of Duties:
All duties are at the direction of the Executive Director. This position will work in coordination with NCE’s Office and Communications.
> Utilize equipment and software for audio and video editing and production
> Guest research, outreach, scheduling, and follow up
> Copywriting and show sheet development
> Digital marketing strategy and promotion
> Work closely with leadership to define season content, themes, and vision
> Within 90 days, achieve weekly podcast recording, editing, and release
> Manage new podcast project from start to finish with Executive Director
> Assist with marketing events and capturing photos and/or video at events
> Special projects as assigned

Pursuing or completed post-secondary education in media-related field, marketing or related field. Candidate must be a self-starter and detail-oriented.

Preferred skills:
> Knowledge of audio and video recording and editing tools
> Strong writing and editing skills
> Experience with digital and social media and podcast publishing tools
> Strong communication skills via email and telephone
> Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
> General understanding of, and desire to work in, the nonprofit sector and the arts and culture sector

Compensation: $12/hr, 10 to 12 hours/week. The position is for a 15-week period, but may be extended if agreed upon.
