NRG Media’s stations in Central Nebraska have a very rare opening for a Sports Director at our stations in Kearney, Nebraska. KGFW-AM is an all sport affiliate for Husker Sports and originates Kearney High School Football, Basketball and Baseball play-by-play each season plus reports from State tournaments in other sports. If you love high school sports and preferably have at least two years of hands-on broadcast and online experience plus you thrive in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing, then we want to talk with you ASAP.
In addition to producing our play-by- play broadcasts other duties include producing other sports programming like morning reports, as well as assisting the news and programming departments by producing shows, reporting breaking news, and more as directed by management. Necessary broadcast and digital media skills include sports and news writing, reporting, anchoring, production, social media and online video. This position also includes duties as a morning show co-host on our top rated CHR station Hits 106 KQKY with occasional in person appearances, on air endorsements and more.
