Video Editor Intern - Union Pacific (Omaha, NE)

Union Pacific (UP) is accepting online applications for a year-round student internship position on the Corporate Communications team at UP Center in Omaha, NE. The intern will edit video for Union Pacific's internal and external media channels, and may have an opportunity to assist with filming railroad operations in the field. The qualified candidate understands the value of natural sound and fights boredom with the power of YouTube tutorials.

This internship is designed to provide students hands-on opportunities in a fast-paced environment in one of America's leading companies. The successful prospect can expect a mentored learning experience, and the opportunity to expand his/her classroom knowledge and skills.

Work schedule can be designed to accommodate academic class schedule; however, availability to work 20 hours per week is required.

Preference will be given to candidates with a work portfolio that can be viewed online.

Responsibilities:
> Edit video for social media and Union Pacific's internal clients
> Assist with vendor management and internal department use of Union Pacific's TV station
> Learn camera, audio and lighting roles for live-streaming studio shows
> Content creation for Union Pacific's image library

As an intern, you will build knowledge and experience in our core business groups and their vision, business objectives, processes, systems, and services. The intern will have extensive contact with peers and interaction with senior leaders. There will also be an opportunity to put leadership, technical skills and business knowledge to immediate use through high value project assignments. Internships available in core department business groups may be determined by business need.

Accountabilities:
> Assist with project management for various company initiatives and complete administrative tasks and special projects
> Learn and perform core department business group work tasks, processes, and customer services
> Perform administrative support for department business group managers
> Develop and execute project action plans and perform team assignments
> Build and strengthen a network of professional contacts within departments and across the company
> Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
> College credits equivalent to two years toward an undergraduate degree with a focus on video, photography or a related area
> Basic organization AND prioritization skills
> Basic time and project management skills
> Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
> Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite and have video editing experience, preferably with Adobe Premiere
> Able to maintain the highest level of organization, creativity and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
> Experience photo editing with Adobe Lightroom or a similar program
> Experience with Adobe After Effects, video compression and codecs
> Experience with DSLR, mirrorless or cinema cameras
> Experience audio editing/mixing with Logic Pro, Pro Tools or similar software
> Able to plan and manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
