Director of Annual Giving - NET/University Television (Lincoln, NE)

NET, Nebraska’s PBS and NPR public media stations, is seeking an experienced professional to define and implement strategies for the annual giving program including but not limited to on-air fundraising, direct mail, telemarketing and online giving to meet yearly goals.

Works directly with the Assistant General Manager-Development and Marketing to define and implement strategies for the annual giving program including but not limited to on-air fundraising, direct mail, telemarketing and online giving to meet yearly goals. Stays abreast of development/fundraising activities and trends within the public broadcasting and non-profit community. Work with pledge production staff to create successful on air pledge breaks to include effective messaging.

Uses best practice tools and techniques to convert audience to donors. Analyze, research, evaluate and track effectiveness of performance of goals for department and staff. Work with AGM-Development & Marketing to prepare annual budgets and define yearly work plans to include strategies for increased cultivation of annual giving. Supervises staff.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business administration, communications or related field plus five (5) years of successful fundraising experience in a similar non-profit business. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Successful fundraising experience in a similar non-profit business. Successful project management and supervisory experience necessary. Experience managing multiple projects as well as working cooperatively with internal constituencies.

Strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage staff. Demonstrated knowledge of membership database software. Ability to work well under deadlines, effectively work as a member of a team is essential as well as attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in non-profit management, marketing, public relations, business administration, communications or related field. Successful public media fundraising experience.
