KNOP-TV, the NBC affiliate serving the North Platte, Nebraska, is looking for a Sports MMJ with Weekend Sports Anchoring responsibilities to tell compelling stories on various platforms. This team member will research, produce, shoot, write, edit and present sports and news content on-air and on social media.
General Responsibilities:
> Perform all the regular duties of a sports (and occasionally news) reporter, from story ideas to shooting, editing and going live, as well as posting on digital and social platforms.
> Be ready and willing to work various schedules depending on the staffing needs of the station.
> Recognize that he/she is a high-profile representative of our news organization in the community and conduct himself/herself in a professional and cordial manner which reflects on KNOP-TV.
Qualifications:
This position requires a high level of creativity and communication. It also requires a degree in journalism or related discipline. He/she must have a background in broadcast journalism and sports with a passion for cutting-edge presentation. We also need a person who is conversant and facile in story-telling on-air and on social media and who understand how the various platforms can be used to demonstrate KNOP’s commitment to hyper-local news coverage. Familiarity with iNews, Avid editing, and Sony ENG equipment is a plus. Applicant(s) must be able to pass a driving test, background check, and drug test.
