Banner Health is currently seeking a Multimedia Public Relations Specialist to join its Marketing & Public Relations department. Located at Banner’s corporate office in midtown Phoenix, the ideal candidate will be an expert in visual storytelling and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Those with a passion for identifying and telling complex, compelling health care stories are encouraged to apply.

As a Multimedia Public Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for visual storytelling in addition to traditional media relations. Responsibilities may include pitching media, facilitating expert interviews, drafting press releases, shooting and editing corresponding video, and enhancing the new direction of Banner’s newsroom to meet the needs of media.

Job Summary:
This position creates and maintains positive relationships with internal and external constituencies through the utilization of a variety of media activities and techniques which present the organizations position and business case to a broad or select group of constituencies.

Essential Functions:
> Serves as a team member on one or more designated Customer and Brand Experience (CBE) team(s) to create content specific to that group.
> As directed by workgroup manager or senior specialist, develops/incorporates efficient corporate communications and applies standardized and best-practice communication methods to ensure maximum leverage of strategic messaging and other pertinent information across the organization or to selected audiences within the organization.
> As directed, provides appropriate communications to successful disaster management.
> May serve on special project or initiative teams that needs CBE support to ensure success.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a strong knowledge of public relations and/or marketing as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelors degree in business administration, marketing or related field. New graduates with some internship/work experience will be considered for specialist positions.

Effective organizational skills and demonstrated experience in diverse, creative writing, strong editing, design and layout capabilities, a basic understanding of website development and internet/intranet communications are required. Sensitivity to public perceptions and their implications/interpretation is required. Effective human relations and communications skills required.
